Aimee Pond

Youth Leadership Development Director

Aimee is an enrolled Oglala Lakota tribal member and was born and raised in Pine Ridge and graduated from Pine Ridge High School. Aimee continued her education at the University of Wyoming where she studied Social Work. After receiving her undergraduate degree, Aimee worked for Laramie Head Start as a Family Advocate until she applied for graduate school. She assisted low-income families with financial, educational and personal goals while their children received free early childhood education. After completing her Master’s Degree in Social Work, Aimee returned home to Pine Ridge School where she worked as a K-12 School Social Worker for three years. During that time, she enjoyed coaching basketball, volleyball, and softball—as well as participating herself when she gets the chance. She is a Certified Social Worker and is enthusiastic about her current role as the Youth Leadership Initiative Director where she gets to manage youth programs, apply for grants, and continue working on initiatives to improve the mental health and wellbeing for youth and families on the Reservation. Aimee is dedicated to education and is the Treasurer for the Pine Ridge High School Alumni Association. She enjoys spending time with her family and pets and being outdoors walking, running, and hiking. Aimee now lives in the Pahin Sinte District and is the proud and dedicated mother to small boys, Justice and Connor as well as three teenagers, Sienna, Kenyon and Daelan.
