Ċaŋṗa - Chokecherries

Ċaŋṗa ehaŋk’ehaŋ lila iyot̄aŋ ċa wi k̄iŋ Ċaŋṗasap̄a Wi eyap̄i. Hoḣp̄a asniyapi na wasna kaġap̄i uŋ ċa ċaŋṗa lila woilagyap̄i. Owoju uŋk̄iṫawap̄i wak̄iŋyaŋ oṗa ekt̄a ċaŋṗa waṡt̄eṡt̄e iċaḣ’uŋyaŋp̄i. 

This traditional food source is so important that the month of our lunar calendar is called Ċaŋṗasapa Wi, Ripe Chokecherry moon. Used for wasna, cough remedies, and more Ċaŋṗa is a crucial relative. Ċaŋṗa is one of the plants that flourishes on our regenerative demonstration farm.
